This famous painting Water Lilies by Claude Monet shows varieties of principals of design. A painting or photograph is a beautiful form to show its true meaning of what's being shown but at the same time catches your attention. Colour to me is the main element to design because you have to start off with what mood/scene you're dealing with (natural, abstract, geometric) then work from there. Natural/real paintings catch my attention because it emphasizes the colours and gives it a real life look by the depth and mood being shown. Art is beauty and talent within which leads to many hidden stories within each art piece. 

     Venus De Milo is a piece of art created in 100 BC. The statue   represents the greek goddess of love and beauty. Venus De Milo shows the true way of being a great piece of art by not having any arms but a feminism body to look at.  This caught my attention because it shows a different structure then most. The way it shows a gaze look with well structure makes you wonder why there is no arms. What I learnt is that art to me is beauty within, each piece of art created has a story which you can show in anyway from paintings, sculptures, architectures etc.. you just have to seek the unknown when you look at art.

     As well as, each artist has a different way of showing art. This makes talent flourish by different styles and techniques. Lucy Lippard demonstrates that art can just be ugly and disturbing with a negative moral content but in someway be creative. To me that's true, art should be different in every way, that's what makes history and this world go round.
